On a Morning like this one my thoughts needed to be directed to the Love of God so Wonderfully portrayed through the Terrifying Cross…

Every Wednesday night I find myself in an interesting location. Most who live there refer to it as “Hell” (unfortunately they know very l little about the reality of which they speak). Yet, in the midst of this perverse, depraved locale God has raised up a body of believers who desire to grow and struggle to be different from the unregenerate that surround them.
Though we take the first part of our time on Wednesday night to allow the light of Christ to shine into the darkness, we spend the last half focusing on building, encouraging, and edifying the body. I am always amazed at the desire to learn, grow, and honor God. They flee from the World that surrounds.

On a daily basis I find myself surrounded by those who are “training” for some form of ministry (though the training is beginning to take many forms these days). We consistently have the Word of God presented to us through various venues. There are times set aside during the week for discipleship, prayer, and personal study. The planned atmosphere is great and the potential for growth amazing.
Numbers within the environment described, instead of being different from the world we are isolated from, flock to emulate. Conversations reflect the unregenerate inhabitants of the other place. Conduct shows forth the similarities. While the verbal affirmation of a desire to be different is given, the practical outworking of the heart’s desire is absent.

Which one is correct? Which one best reflects the walk to which we are called? Which one walks a worthy walk?
