LIFE…

I have begun to notice something over the past few months. If you look at the great heroes of the faith, whether Biblical or those who have lived closer to our time, there begins to be a pattern. This pattern set them apart from the typical, apathetic followers of God. It separated them from the mere believers and allowed them to turn the world upside down for the cause of Christ. What is this pattern? What did they do that allowed them to impact so many? One simple thing – they took God at His Word.

From Abraham to Hudson Taylor… From Taylor to George Mueller… From Mueller to Jim Elliot… They all read God’s Word and were willing to accept and believe the promises that He made and the things that He said no matter the cost. They stepped out by faith knowing that “No Good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” They were willing to endure trial because they believed God and His promise of future blessing.

If only we were willing to do the same. If only we could come to trust God and His word completely…
